Irina Margareta Nistor [RO]
The most famous Romanian voice, ever since the 80′. The renown movie critic translated in secrecy over 3000 movies which in the communist era circulated only on VCR tapes. After the 1989 revolution her work was recognized by the Romanian Presidency, being awarded a medal for her important contribution to the Romanian culture, especially in a time when censorship was present in all aspects of the cultural life.
She interviewed great names of the international film industry, including Francis Ford Copola, Charles Aznavour, Giuliano Gemma, Alan J. Pakula, Rutger Heuer, Anthony Minghella and Julie Delphy. It is said that Irina Nistor, who commented live from festivals such as the Cannes Film Festival, or the Oscar, Bafta and Emmy Awards ceremonies, watched over 13000 movies so far and translated more than 5000 films, from English, Italian and French.
Laura Goldberger [US]
Knowledge changes minds, but art changes hearts, says Laura Goldberg, who, in her own words is a cultural journalist, a profession that can be described as knowing and spreading culture. Culture has been her reason to be, and her whole career has centered on it, as a cultural journalist with 15 years of experience. Being a senior radio producer for the Romanian equivalent of NPR (Romanian Cultural Radio), she produced daily shows, organized public debates, workshops, round tables for all kind of artists from all fields of arts. During her career she interviewed countless established cultural personalities, raised money for events, handled PR communications and brought people together in exhibitions, book launches, and conferences. Laura Goldberg is a very active, 24/7 “on”, cultural journalist – holding multiple positions at the same time and was only happy when she was able to excel at everything.
Adrian Berinde [RO]
A renown writer, painter, composer, director and producer and one of the most important folk musicians in Romania. A complex artistic figure, a true Renaissance personality, as the great Florian Pitis said about him. Since 1981 till today he had no less than 18 personal exhibitions in Romania and Switzerland, launched 8 musical albums, wrote hundreds of poems, directed shows and took part and organized numerous festivals and shows on the most important radio and TV networks. He is one of the artists whose work was used by the Cultural Center Georges Pompidou in Paris. He is also one of the founders, back in 2004, of the first independent movie festival from Romania , Anonimul IFF.
Rudolf Moca [RO]
He is the one who set on stage, as an European premiere, the first theater play in the Romani language, at the Masca Theater in Bucharest in 2010. A great professor-trainer, play-writer, director and actor, he also had his own radio and TV shows for the Romani people. He wrote more than 40 plays, directed theater shows documentaries, being rewarded with many awards, including the Great Prize and the Trophy of of National and International Theater Festivals.
Ruxandra Ghițescu [RO]
She is a Romanian visual artist and filmmaker. She is a graduate student of the Media Art School, in Karlsruhe, Germany. Ruxandra started to work in the industry in 2006 making her way up from video assist operator to script and continuity, working in present as a director on commercials and as a scriptwriter. Over the past years, her short films have been selected in international film festivals like Sofia, Cottbus, Cork, Helsinki, Transylvania IFF a.o. Ruxandra was selected as participant for Transylvania Talents 2014, Sarajevo Talents 2014 and Berlinale Talents 2015. She is now in preproduction with her debut feature “Otto the Barbarian” (Alien Film) which was part of Berlinale Script Station 2016, Cinelink Sarajevo 2016 – winner of the Macedonian Film Institute Prize and it part of L’Atelier selection, Cannes 2017.
Alin Ludu Dumbrava [RO]
One of the most important film critics in Romania , play-writer, director and festival producer, he wrote many movie scripts and worked for many important TV networks: HBO, Discovery Chanel, PRO Tv , Pro Cinema, Antena 1 . He worked as a producer for the Dracula Film Festival, Doc and Roll Film Festival, Love Story Film Festival and Comedy Cluj Film Festival. A movie critic whose reviews can be read in many important magazines, like PRO Cinema, VIP, Revista HBO, Observatorul Cultural, Ziua , Sunete, Art&Roll, Campus , Republik, Freestyle, Atitudini. Dumbrava is also among the special envoyees at the Cannes Film Festival.
Theo Marton [RO]
A renown actor and director, he had a leading role in Billion Star Hotel, a movie that was selected to take part in more than 52 international film festivals and which brought home 19 awards. He also acted in the The Tyrant series produced by Fox 21. He acted in 13 theater plays, he directed short movies and publicity campaigns and he is the founder of the first independent theater in Targu Mures, Teatru 74.
Rina Grishina [RU]
She is a Russian film and theatre actress. Since her childhood and Saint-Petersburg Theatre Arts Academy alumnus, Rina has appeared in over 40 screen productions and on many stages in Moscow and Saint-Petersburg. She is best known for her work on the CTC’s series “Kukhnya” and “Hotel Eleon” and is currently starring in two theatrical works “Love. Overheard” and “Trendsetters”. Her talent also extends to music, which she puts into playing the upright bass and singing in her group “Sestra Petra”.
Vlad Gliga [RO]
One of the most important young producers in the Romanian movie industry, director, screenwriter and film festival manager, he is also known for his involvement in success movies like (Aferim! , Love Building, The World is Mine). He works as an executive producer for Hi Film, Da Kino, Libra Film etc . He took part in more than 36 movie productions, he was a festival director and he was also involved in many marketring campaigns as a producer or director.
Emanuel Lăzărescu [RO]
Important movie critic, distribution expert and festival manager, former project manager of the most prestigious movie magazine in Romania, CineMagia, and of the film journal with the same name, producer of many shows about the movie industry on radio and on TV, he used to be a member of the board committee for the National Center for Filmography, and director of the International Film Festinal in Iasi. As a movie critic he was a member of the jury for many international film festivals (IPIFF, Alter-Native, Dracula, Kinofest etc). Presently, amongst others, he also manages the cinefan.ro.
Pawel Kita [PL]
Pavel Kita is a marketing manager with over 14 years of experience in Communication. During his work with top companies in the Central and Eastern European region, he has successfully implemented a number of various marketing communication initiatives in Poland, Romania, Austria and other countries. Currently he works for Canon, a company which is a world-leading innovator and provider of imaging solutions. His passions include jazz music, particularly guitar which he plays quite well and cinema.
Norbert Kovács [RO]
Famous composer, performer, music producer and sound engineer. He is best known for the artistic coordination of some Eurovision musicians and bands. He also managed well known music bands such as Adrian Berinde Band, Desperado, Speak Floyd – The Romanian Pink Floyd tribute band, Dalma, The Vagabonds, 4Given. The music composed and produced by Norbert reached several times Top 10 Music Romania from 2008 till now. He was sound engineer of the multi awarded film Billion Star Hotel, and won the Best Sound Design at Los Angeles Independent Film Festival Awards. He is Co- founder and producer at Republic Production.
Bogdan Orcula [RO]
Graduated at National University of Theatre and Film “I.L.Caragiale”, Bucharest, (multimedia-editing and sound). Having over 8 years of experience, he is currently working at Studioset as a senior video editor. His work consists of both, commercial and non-commercial projects. Some of Bogdan’s recent projects are: Lag (fiction short, 2014, directing and editing), Lure (fashion video, 2015, editing), Billion Star Hotel (drama feature, 2016, editing).
