Interview with actor Jenny Berg

  • How did you get involved in acting?

I started acting in a theater group.

  • How different is it to act in a movie and to act in a theater play? And which one do you prefer?

In front of the camera it is more important with more subtle expressions and presence, compared to being on a theater stage, were you can more expressive and use bigger gestures. I prefer standing in front of the camera.

  • What are your weak points when it comes to acting? How do you try to improve them?

My lack of confidence is my weakest point, and every year I take acting classes in order to develop myself as an actor.

  • What are your strong points as an actor?

I have a great presence and for me, it is easy to bring out different emotions. Also, I am good at improvising.

  • What have you learned from the directors that you have worked with throughout your career?

There are so many different ways of doing a scene depending on what you want to bring to the audience. It is important not to get stuck. The ability to try new ways is important.

  • What makes a good scene partner?

A partner that is present and does everything he or she can to identify oneself with the situation.

  • What are some of the difficulties of the acting business?

There are so many actors out there and not enough movies, so it is hard to make yourself heard in the film industry. You need contacts and luck in order to be successful.

  • What’s challenging about bringing a script to life?

To make your lines and your character alive so that the people watching the movie “believe you”.

  • What do you do when you’re not doing theatre/film?

I work with autistic children.
