TheShortFilmFestival.com

This is our main project and it is dedicated to filmmakers from all over the world. Our jury selects every month the winning short films for each category:

Best Film, Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Screenplay, Best Editing, Best Narrative, Best Scenography, Best Leading Actor, Best Leading Actress, Best Short Comedy, Best Short Drama, Best Short Horror, Best Short Fantasy/Sci-Fi, Best Narrative Short, Best Student Short, Best Young Director, Best Children Short, Best Animation Short, Best Documentary Short, Best Experimental Short, Best Music Video, Best Mini Short, Best Mobile Phone Short, Best Amateur Short, Best Series (Web/TV), Best Fashion Short, Best Commercial/Ad/TVC, Best Stop-Motion/Time-Lapse, Best Trailer.

How it works

First of all you have to choose one or more categories and submit your short film. You can do this on FilmFreeway, Reelport, Festhome, ClickForFestivals, SFilmmaker or FilmFestivalLife.

Usually, our submissions start on 4th-7th of the month and end on the same day next month.

IMPORTANT NOTE: We don’t screen the films online! The members of the jury watch the films online and they choose the Official Selections.

In maximum one week after the deadline day for submissions we publish the Official Selections list and we notify the filmmakers via e-mail.

During the next 10 days our members of the jury watch the selected short films again and they decide the winners for each category. After that we publish the Winners list and we notify filmmakers by e-mail. The lists are published on social media and on our dedicated website: theshortfilmfestival.com.

Your nominations and awards can be listed on IMDb.

This is a short tutorial about How To Get Your STTP AWARD Listed On IMDb

In the last week of the month we screen the awarded films. The event is organized by our partners Short Film Factory and it takes place in more than 20 cities across the world. We aim to bring short films not only in cinema theatres but in the most unconventional places where people get used to spend time like pubs, bars, cafes, bookshops, hubs, university clubs etc.

We have 3-4 months delay between the monthly awards and the monthly screenings. So the films which get an award in February for January edition will be screened in May-June. You can find out more about the screenings on our webpage: theshortfilmfestival.com.

All the awarded films enter the competition for the Annual Event which is held in the autumn. The winners of the Annual Event will receive our official trophy.

Monthly Live Screenings

Short Film Factory

ShortFilmFactory.info

SHORT FILM FACTORY is a network of short film screening locations and events.

SHORT FILM FACTORY is promoting short films to Romanian audience for more than 10 years. We screen short films in all kind of places, from cinema theatre to pubs, from conference halls to concerts and festivals, from university forums to film workshops, from indoor to outdoor, from cities to villages, camping, seaside, delta or mountain. In other words, we screen almost anywhere.

We (Asociatia Green Art Tour) are an NGO based in Bucharest, Romania and we operate all over the world. We have partnerships with more than 100 screening locations. Our audience is varied due to diverse locations where we screen the films.

SHORT FILM FACTORY is one of the main projects in our portfolio. It’s a continuous short film screening event. Every month we organize the screenings of the awarded films from Short to the Point ISFF in more than 20 locations. The demand for short film content is high, so we came with the idea to give the opportunity to all filmmakers who want to screen their films in more than 20 locations at once to submit their films to Short Film Factory. We are continuously growing so we expect at the end of 2019 to screen short films in more than 100 locations across the word.

HOW IT WORKS

Every month we select 8 hours of short films which are going to be screened in our partner locations. It means that we choose between 20 and 60 short films per month. The awards are not available on a first come, first served basis. We will choose the films by their quality no matter when they are submitted.

Selection criteria for films may include the point of view or innovation of the screenplay, the technical or professional quality of filmmaking, the ground breaking or cutting edge theme of the film, the film’s length, its’ educational and/or entertainment value, the film’s insight into a way of life or culture, film reviews and/or awards garnered by the film, its official selection by film festivals, or the viewpoint of Program Committee members of SHORT FILM FACTORY.

We suggest you to submit your short film to PRESELECTION category first. If your film will be selected we will notify you and guide you through the next steps. Your fee is paid for your film to be considered. By no means does submitting your film guarantee that your film will be accepted for SHORT FILM FACTORY screenings. If your film is not accepted, your submission fee is not refunded. In order to get your film screened in all our partner locations you have to pay the SCREENING FEE. You can submit your film directly to this category but unfortunately we cannot refund a submission fee in case your film will not be selected. Please make absolutely sure you want to submit your film before doing so.

All types of short films are accepted: NARRATIVE, STUDENT, EXPERIMENTAL, ANIMATION, DOCUMENTARY, MUSIC VIDEO, MINI SHORT, CHILDREN, AMATEUR, COMMERCIAL, FASHION, VLOG, STOP MOTION, SERIES, WEB etc. Here are some examples of accepted film genres: Absurdist, Action, Adaptation, Adventure, Advertising, Art-house, Biographical, Black Comedy, Classic, Children, Comedy, Crime, Dance, Detective, Drama, Cult, Epic, Family, Fantasy, Gangster, Horror, Independent, Indie, Noir, Historical, Kids, LGBT, Magical realism, Musical, Mystery, Melodrama, Road Movie, Philosophical, Political, Romance, Satire, Science Fiction, Silent Films, Slice of Life, Social, Sports, Superhero, Supernatural, Surreal, Suspense, Thriller, Urban, War (Anti-War), Western, Zombie etc

The running time of films entered for the competitions should not exceed 30 minutes (we have no minimum length limit).

Films in languages other than English will only be accepted with English subtitles.

AWARDS AND PRIZES

Every month we select around 8 hours of short films for the live screenings held by our partner locations. So somewhere between 20 and 60 short films will be awarded by SHORT FILM FACTORY.

All monthly selected films will receive the winner laurels of the festival. Being selected it means that your film is considered for the screenings. You just have to pay the screening fee to become a winner. So if you are selected you are already a winner. Simple as that.

All monthly awarded films will be screened in more than 20 locations across the world.

Every month, our audience votes on their favorite film. At the end of the year, the most voted short film will receive the SHORT FILM FACTORY trophy.

rolling ideas

rollingideas.net

‘rolling ideas’ is the modern type of short film festival. It’s a mix between digital wave and retro style.

We live in a vintage world where everything around us has its digital correspondent. We watch our digital TV, we drive our digital cars, we speak on our digital mobile phones, we wake up after we hear a digital alarm, we go to sleep after chatting with our friends on the internet, and that’s not all. We are surrounded by digital. ‘rolling ideas’ is the vintage place where we can celebrate the digital culture.

‘rolling ideas’ film festival combines the past and the future with some unique concept, separated into two parts:

1. CONTEMPORARY ART CONCEPT – DAILY PROMOTION OF SHORT FILMS

Your short film deserves an audience. rollingideas.net is the place where your film can find new fans. We have developed an online platform where we started to promote monthly awarded short films. We will NOT showcase the full films online and we will NOT upload films online. We use the links provided by you and promote them. So if you have a public link of your film we will share it to our audience. If you don’t have a short film that is already public for online audience we will promote your trailer, an interview with the director/producer or an original review written by our film exerts.

2. RETRO ART CONCEPT – ANNUAL SHORT FILM SCREENINGS

Once a year, in summer, our judging team selects the BEST FILMS OF THE YEAR and we screen them in the awesome place called UZINA FOTO. It’s a cultural space adapted in an abandoned factory. The interesting thing is that this factory was producing film for photo and video cameras before the digital era started to grow. Till 2004, Azo Mures was one of the biggest film production factories in the world, alongside Kodak and Fuji. The ‘rolling ideas’ annual event lasts 7 days and includes a lot of activities: short film screenings, conferences, digital museum and exhibitions, workshops, street art, video mapping shows, music concerts and DJ live sets.

We suggest you submit your short to PRESELECTION category first. If your film will be selected we will notify you and guide you through the next steps. Unfortunately we cannot refund a submission fee once you’ve submitted your film. Please make absolutely sure you want to submit your film before doing so. Your fee is paid for your film to be considered. By no means does submitting your film guarantee that your film will be accepted for ‘rolling ideas’. If your film is not accepted, your submission fee is not refunded.

All types of short films are accepted: NARRATIVE, STUDENT, EXPERIMENTAL, ANIMATION, DOCUMENTARY, MUSIC VIDEO, MINI SHORT, CHILDREN, AMATEUR, COMMERCIAL, FASHION, VLOG, STOP MOTION, SERIES, WEB etc. Here are some examples of accepted film genres: Absurdist, Action, Adaptation, Adventure, Advertising, Art-house, Biographical, Black Comedy, Classic, Children, Comedy, Crime, Dance, Detective, Drama, Cult, Epic, Family, Fantasy, Gangster, Horror, Independent, Indie, Noir, Historical, Kids, LGBT, Magical realism, Musical, Mystery, Melodrama, Road Movie, Philosophical, Political, Romance, Satire, Science Fiction, Silent Films, Slice of Life, Social, Sports, Superhero, Supernatural, Surreal, Suspense, Thriller, Urban, War (Anti-War), Western, Zombie etc
